Pune: Prices of Coriander, Fenugreek, Spring Onions, and Sorrel Surge by 15-20%

Pune, 6th May 2024: The arrival of fruits and vegetables has reduced due to summer in Pune, resulting in an increase in the prices of onion, green gram, beans, and peas by 5 to 10%. Prices of other fruits and vegetables remain stable. Rates of coriander, fenugreek, spring onions, and sorrel have increased by 15 to 20%. Traders have informed us that the price of other leafy vegetables has also increased by 5 to 10%.

On Sunday (5th May), 90 truckloads of fruits and vegetables from both the Maharashtra State and other parts of the country arrived at the wholesale market in Shree Chhatrapati Shivaji Market Yard. Vilas Bhujbal, a senior dealer in the market yard, informed that there were 10 to 12 Tempo Green Chillies each from Karnataka, Gujarat, and Andhra Pradesh; 1000 boxes each of Totapuri Raw Mangoes from Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka; 3 to 4 Tempo Cabbages from Gujarat and Karnataka; 3 to 4 Tempo Beans from Karnataka; 2 tempos each of groundnuts from Belgaum; 4 to 5 tempos of Moringa from Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu; 4 trucks of peas from Himachal Pradesh; and 9 to 10 tempos of garlic from Madhya Pradesh.

From Pune Division, there were 600 to 700 sacks of Satari Ginger, 5 to 6 tempo each of Okra and Guar, 9 to 10 thousand boxes of Tomato, 4 to 5 tempo of Green Chilli, 8 to 10 tempo of Dhobi Chilli, 5 to 6 tempo of Cabbage, and 8 to 10 tempo of Flowers. Additionally, there were 7 to 8 tempos of Cucumber, 10 to 12 tempos of Red pumpkin, and 80 trucks of Onion. Moreover, 30 to 35 truckloads of potatoes arrived from Indore, Agra, and local areas.

The price of leafy vegetables has increased due to summer. Rates of Coriander, Fenugreek, Spring Onions, and Green Sorrel have risen by 15 to 20 %, while the prices of other leafy vegetables have increased by 5 to 10 %. In the vegetable section of the market yard, one lakh of coriander and 60 thousand bouquets of fenugreek were received on Sunday. A bouquet of fenugreek and coriander costs between Rs 20 and Rs 30 in the retail market.

– Coriander – Rs 1200 to Rs 2000
– Fenugreek – Rs 1200 to Rs 1500
– Dill Leaves – Rs 800 to Rs 1200
– Spring Onions – Rs 800 to Rs 1500
– White Goosefoot – Rs 400 to Rs 700
– Safflower – Rs 300 to Rs 700
– Mint – Rs 300 to Rs 600
– Roselle – Rs 400 to Rs 700
– Radish – Rs 800 to Rs 1200
– Green Sorrel – Rs 500 to Rs 1000
– Amaranth – Rs 400 to Rs 700
– Spinach – Rs 800 to Rs 1500
