Pune: Prisoners Will Have Hot Water For Bathing - Amitabh Gupta

Pune, 20th January 2023: The prisoners in various jails of the state will now get hot water for bathing. Apart from that, a decision has been taken by the prison administration to increase the number of telephones to communicate with relatives. Hence, the prisoners who bathe with cold water during winter and monsoon for years will have permanent hot water. Maharashtra Inspector General of Prisons and Additional Director General of Police Amitabh Gupta has given orders in this regard.

Priority has been given to know the problems of the prisoners who are detained for various crimes and implementing measures for them. In this regard, a meeting was recently held on behalf of the State Prisons Department with all the Deputy Inspector Generals of Prisons and the Superintendents of all Central Prisons.

Accordingly, prisoners have the right to meet their physical needs, for this, the prison administration will provide hot water for bathing, and extra telephone facilities for talking with relatives. Meanwhile, due to the severe cold in the state, hot water will be provided immediately to the prisoners for bathing.

Due to the growing cold, many prisoners in the prison demanded that hot water be provided for bathing. Accordingly, all the jail superintendents have been ordered to ensure that hot water is available for bathing the prisoners. Apart from that, since it is very cold, it has been demanded to provide blankets, bedsheets, and pillows for sleeping.

Accordingly, the prison administration has given instructions to provide the necessary materials for sleeping to the prisoners. Various items are made by the prisoners of various prisons in the state. If necessary, the prison where the goods are manufactured will be made available to the prisoners by registering a demand.
