Baner, 11th April 2025: Pune’s Anti-Narcotics Squad 2 has arrested a 26-year-old youth for trafficking Ozokush—a high-grade hydroponic cannabis—in the Baner area of the city. The accused, Arjun Lingraj Totigar, a marketing and sales graduate, was working with a private company while simultaneously running the drug trade to supplement his income.

Totigar, a resident of Sukhwani Panorama in Susgaon, Baner, was caught with 30.54 grams of hydroponic cannabis valued at approximately ₹3.05 lakh. The police also seized related material from his possession. A case has been registered against him at Baner Police Station under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

According to the police, Totigar developed a cannabis habit during his college years, which led him to establish connections with local drug dealers. To cover his personal expenses while still in college, he became actively involved in the sale and distribution of cannabis. Though currently employed in a private firm, he allegedly continued trafficking to manage his lifestyle expenses.

The arrest was made on Thursday (10th April) when the Anti-Narcotics Squad was patrolling the Baner area. Acting on a tip-off received by Constable Azad Patil, the team detained Totigar at Shivshakti Chowk. The operation was carried out under the guidance of Police Inspector Sudarshan Gaikwad and Assistant Police Inspector Nitin Kumar Naik.

Police are now investigating the wider network and source of the hydroponic cannabis, which is typically grown using controlled, high-tech farming methods and has been increasingly found in urban drug busts.
