Dehuroad, 13th June 2023: In a disheartening turn of events, a cable fault has resulted in a power outage that has persisted for a staggering nine hours in the vicinity of Kiwale, Dehuroad, and Ravet. Since the early hours of 5 am, residents in these areas have been grappling with the lack of electricity, causing significant inconvenience and disruption to their daily routines.

Suyog Gaikwad, a resident of Kiwale, Dehuroad, expressed his frustration, stating that he had traveled from Mumbai to Pune to celebrate his two-year-old baby’s birthday with his family. Unfortunately, the power outage has dampened their plans, leaving them hopeful for a swift resolution to resume their birthday celebrations.

Numerous individuals have taken to social media platforms to voice their concerns and seek assistance. Ankit, through his Twitter handle, @ankit4up, reached out to the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL), reporting the recurring power cuts in the Lotus Laxmi Road area near Mukai Chowk, Kiwale, Pune. Ankit’s tweet highlights the growing frequency of such incidents, urging the authorities to address the issue promptly.

Subhash Adhikari also shared his grievances on Twitter, emphasizing the impact of the power outage in the Dehuroad, PCMC area since early morning. He voiced concerns about the irregular water supply, where electricity failures coincide with water supply schedules, hindering the filling of overhead tanks in residential societies. Subhash urged MSEDCL to take necessary measures to alleviate the situation.

Responding to these complaints, MSEDCL’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Nishikant Raut told  Punekarnews.in that the repair work for the damaged high-tension cable is nearing completion. The cables are being taken out for repair and will be reinstalled soon. The electricity is expected to be restored by 3 pm
