Pune: Prostitution Racket Run from Salon Spa Uncovered in Aundh Road area, Case Registered

Pune, 24th April 2026: The Anti-Human Trafficking and Immoral Trade Prevention Cell of Pune Police raided a premises in the Aundh Road area where prostitution racket was allegedly being operated under the guise of a massage centre.

During the operation, a young woman was rescued and the female manager of the establishment was arrested.

The arrested accused has been identified as Suryakanta Namdev Wankhede (42), a resident of Shivprasad Colony in Chinchwad. A case has been registered against her and the owner of the premises at Chatushrungi police station.

Police said the alleged racket was being run from ‘Pally Beauty and Salon Spa’ located in Darpan Building near Neoshi Park in the Aundh Road area.

According to police, information was received by Police Inspector Chhagan Kapse that prostitution was being conducted at the centre under the cover of massage services.

Acting on the tip-off, police sent a decoy customer to verify the information on Thursday (April 23). After confirmation, a raid was conducted at the premises.
During the raid, police found that a young woman had allegedly been lured with money and forced into prostitution. She was rescued during the operation. The raid was conducted by a team led by Police Inspector Chhagan Kapse.
