Pune: Protest Against Pune Administration For Beating Up A Student

Pune, November 28, 2020: Several student organizations have agitated towards the harassment of Savitribai Phule Pune University(SPPU) final year BSC student who was allegedly beaten up by a security guard of the varsity for recording video inside the Examination Director’s cabin.
Agitated by the security guard’s action, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) along with the Republican Party of India (RPI) activists met Vice-Chancellor Nitin Karmalkar and demanded immediate suspension of the officials who harassed the boy.
A protest was also held around 11 am at SPPU main building wherein the agitators condemned the incident and demanded immediate justice for the student. “We demand immediate justice to the students and the protest will continue to happen if justice isn’t served within the next seven days”, said Somnath Lohar, president, NCP SPPU Student Union wing.
After the protest, the NCP wing along with the RPI activists met the Vice-Chancellor (VC). The VC assured of strict action against the person behind this by December 5.
Adv Kranti Parv Sahane Saheb, Suraj Gaikwad of RPI, Omkar Benke Patil, Shivraj Kumbhar, Ashish Jagtap were also present.
