Pune: Purandar International Airport Land Survey Nears Completion; Farmers’ Compensation to Begin from November 20
Pune, 10th October 2025: The land survey work for the proposed Purandar International Airport is progressing rapidly, with surveys in three villages already completed and two more nearing completion, District Collector Jitendra Dudi announced on Thursday. The entire survey process across all seven project-affected villages is expected to be completed by October 16.
The airport project will come up in seven villages of Purandar taluka—Kumbharvalan, Ekhatpur, Pargaon, Munjawadi, Khanwadi, Udachiwadi, and Vanpuri—covering around 3,000 acres of land. According to the district administration, consent has been received for nearly 95 percent of the total area required for the project.
“So far, 3,220 farmers from these seven villages have given their consent for about 2,810 acres of land,” said Collector Dudi. “The land survey began on September 26 and is progressing smoothly. Surveys in Udachiwadi, Ekhatpur, and Munjawadi have been completed, while those in Kumbharvalan and Khanwadi will be done within the next two days. The survey of Vanpuri will begin on October 11 and Pargaon on October 13. All counting work will be finished by October 16.”
Dudi added that farmers are extending full cooperation, and the process is being carried out without any dispute. “Officials from the Revenue, Land Records, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Public Works, Irrigation, and MIDC departments are participating jointly in the survey. Six dedicated teams have been formed to ensure efficiency and transparency,” he said.
Following the completion of the survey, the administration will hold meetings with farmers from all seven villages to hear their demands and compensation expectations. Based on these consultations, the proposal will be submitted to the state government.
“The actual compensation disbursement for land acquisition is planned to begin from November 20,” said Dudi. “We are also holding discussions with the few farmers who have not yet given consent. Those who agree now will be allotted developed plots as part of the rehabilitation package. Farmers who become landless due to this project will be issued farmer certificates, enabling them to purchase new agricultural land.”
The district administration has emphasized that the land acquisition process will be implemented directly through the District Collector’s office, ensuring fair compensation and transparency in execution.
