Pune: Quick-Thinking Fireman and Team Tackle BMW Inferno

Pune, 12th April 2023: In a daring and selfless act of heroism, a fireman from Kondhwa Khurd fire station, Harshad Yewale, accompanied by his family, rushed towards a blazing BMW-X1 near Dharmawat petrol pump in Undri Pisoli around 11.30 pm yesterday. The quick-thinking fireman immediately sprang into action to ensure the safety of the vehicle’s occupants.

Yewale, a resident of the area, was en route to Kenjal village (Satara district) in his four-wheeler vehicle, accompanied by his family, when he noticed the BMW vehicle ablaze. Without a second thought, Yewale sprang into action, running towards the inferno to check if there were any trapped occupants. The fireman was quick to assess the situation and used the firefighting equipment available at the petrol pump to douse the flames.

As soon as the Kondhwa Budruk fire fighting vehicle and water tanker arrived, Yewale and his team of brave firefighters, including drivers Baburao Jadhav, Akshay Kharat, and Tandel Sopan Kamble, and constables Abhijit Thalkar, Arjun Yadav, Sahil Padye, and Anil Chavan, extinguished the remaining flames with a focused stream of water. Their teamwork and dedication ensured that the situation was brought under control without any injuries.

The citizens were quick to praise Yewale and his team for their quick thinking and bravery.
