Pune: Raid On Hideout Of Petrol Thieves In Loni, Seven Arrested
Pune, 9th October 2022: Police raided the hideout of petrol thieves in the Kadamwakwasti area near Loni Kalbhor and seized two tankers along with valuables worth Rs 80 lakh.
In this case, the police arrested seven people including the leader of the petrol-stealing gang. Dheeraj Vitthal Kalbhor (36), Ameer Malik Sheikh (32), Sachin Bhaurao Survase (30), Vijay Maruti Jagtap (52), Ramchandra Raosaheb Devkate (41), and Isak Ismail Mazkuri (42) were arrested. Mahesh Baban Kalbhor (42), resident of Kadam Wak Wasti) has been arrested in the case of providing space to petrol thieves.
There are several petrol companies in the Loni Kalbhor area. In connivance with the tanker drivers transporting petrol, the petrol is stolen and sold illegally.
Senior Police Inspector Dattatray Chavan of Loni Kalbhor Police Station and his team received information that five to six people were extracting petrol from two tankers behind the Bharat Tires shop in the Kadam Wak Wasti area of Loni Kalbhor. Then the police raided them there. Two tankers and petrol worth Rs 80 lakh were seized from there.
