Pune Railway Authorities Establish Separate Lane For Vehicles Arriving At Station
Pune, 24th March 2023: Be prepared the next time you leave the Pune railway station to navigate through strict lanes set aside for cars, autorickshaws, and buses operated by the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML). The railways have now established separate lanes for vehicles arriving at the Pune railway station to drop off and pick up passengers.
The front main gate, which is close to the Mahatma Gandhi statue, is where there is always a rush of vehicles arriving to drop off and pick up people, according to information provided by the Railway Protection Force (RPF). As a result, the station road becomes congested, which is inconvenient for commuters that pass by.
Also, it causes issues for emergency vehicles like ambulances and fire trucks that become stuck in the chaos of the traffic. The RPF decided to create distinct lanes for all vehicles in light of this.
According to B S Raghuvanshi, a senior police officer with the RPF stationed at the Pune railway station, separate lanes are being implemented for autos, autorickshaws, and PMPML buses that enter the station. Several complaints were made about vehicles being parked illegally and causing traffic congestion. Therefore, this process of separate lanes will start within the next few days.
