Pune Railway Station To Introduce Luxurious Lounge for Passengers

Pune, 7th May 2024: Pune Railway Station will now feature a high-quality luxurious lounge for passengers. The lounge will be situated within the reservation counter premises, offering passengers excellent service and facilities. The initiation of a tender process for this project will commence soon.

The number of people travelling through Pune Railway Station is growing day by day. Passengers often have to wait in the waiting room on platform no.1, which does not meet high standards. Additionally, near the parcel office, there is an AC waiting room, but no additional facilities are provided here, and the seating arrangements are mediocre. Pune Railway Station frequently hosts VIP visitors, prompting railway authorities to decide on establishing a lounge equipped with all necessary facilities and services. Passengers will receive excellent amenities in this new lounge.

Nowadays, many people prefer to purchase their tickets online, resulting in a reduced rush near reservation counters at Pune Railway Station, as well as at the majority of railway stations across the country. More than half of the reservation counter windows at Pune Railway Station have been closed for the past few days. The space occupied by these closed windows, along with the adjacent area, will be utilized to create a lounge. This decision aims to optimize the available space effectively, and passengers will be required to pay for access to this lounge.

Dr Milind Hirve, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of Indian Railways, stated, “To provide passengers with high-quality facilities, we will be introducing a lounge at Pune Railway Station. The tender process for this lounge will commence soon, and it will be modelled after the lounge at Pune Airport.”

2) Tea, coffee, and snacks (charges will vary)
3) Free WiFi
4) Books, magazines, and newspapers
5) Air conditioning system
6) Clean toilets
