Pune: Rain Lashes Kondhwa, Katraj Areas; IMD Warns of Thunderstorms and Gusty Winds Till May 13

Kondhwa, 9th May 2025: Rainfall has been reported in Kondhwa-Katraj areas since the past hour, marking a sharp change in weather conditions in the region. The downpour is part of a broader weather pattern predicted by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), which has issued an advisory for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds with speeds reaching 30–40 kmph until May 13.

According to the IMD’s 24-hour rainfall data recorded until 9 am on Friday, the highest rainfall in Pune district was recorded in Nimgiri at 10.0 mm. Other areas like Malin, Lavasa, and Lavale received 1.0 mm each, while Kurvande and Bhor reported 0.5 mm.

Residents are advised to take necessary precautions against lightning and strong winds.
