Pune: Rajasthan Man Arrested in Kharadi for Opium Sale, Items Worth Rs 2.22 Lakh Seized

Pune, 9th January 2025: The Anti Narcotics Cell of the Pune City Police Commissionerate’s Crime Branch arrested a youth from Rajasthan for selling opium in the Kharadi area. The accused, identified as Vijay Singh Khima Singh Rajpurohit (37), a resident of Kharadi and native of Rajasthan, was caught with opium worth Rs 2.22 lakh, weighing scales, and other valuables.

The arrest occurred during a routine patrol by the Anti Narcotics Cell in Kharadi. Acting on a tip-off, the investigation team learned that Rajpurohit was near a shop in the Sant Tukaram Nagar area with opium in his possession. The police set up a trap and successfully caught the suspect.

Upon searching Rajpurohit, the police found 111 grams of opium valued at Rs 2.22 lakh, a weighing scale, and other unspecified valuables. All items were discovered in a bag he was carrying.
