Pune Youth Remanded in Police Custody for Stabbing Colleague to Death at WNS

Yerawada, 9th January 2025: A young woman working at a call centre in Pune was fatally stabbed by her colleague with a Koyta. The court has remanded the accused youth to police custody until 13th January. The victim, identified as Shubhada Kodare, had borrowed approximately Rs 4 Lakh from the accused over time, citing false reasons such as her father’s medical treatment. Her reluctance to repay the money reportedly angered the youth, leading to the fatal attack.
The murder took place on the evening of 7th January in the parking lot of WNS Global Services in Ramwadi, where both the victim and the accused worked. The police have arrested Krishna Satyanarayan Kanoja for the crime. Eyewitnesses report that Krishna attacked Shubhada in front of other people in the company’s parking lot.
A video of the incident, which has since gone viral, shows Shubhada lying in a pool of blood while Krishna stood nearby with a koyta in his hand, apparently talking on the phone. After a while, he discarded the weapon, and bystanders caught him before approaching the injured woman.
Krishna Kanoja, who worked as a clerk at the call centre, had reportedly given Shubhada money on multiple occasions, totalling about Rs 4 lakh. The accused’s financial situation was also described as desperate. On the day of the incident, Shubhada arrived at work around 6 PM and was chatting with a friend in the parking lot when Krishna approached her. After a brief exchange about the money, Krishna allegedly attacked her, leaving her critically injured, before she died.
