Pune, 22nd December 2023: As the Christmas festival approaches, the Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park and Wildlife Research Center in Katraj, a beloved attraction for Pune residents and tourists alike, is gearing up for an influx of visitors. In a bid to further enhance the holiday spirit, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced a special initiative to boost tourism by offering free entry to children below 8 years of age from December 23rd to 31st.

Renowned as one of India’s leading zoos, the Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park boasts a diverse array of mammals, birds, and reptiles. During school holidays, the park becomes a hub for children and senior citizens, drawing a significant number of tourists from across the state and the country.

Recognizing the Christmas break for many schools in the city, the Municipal Corporation’s decision to grant free admission aims to encourage families to explore the wonders of the Zoological Park. The initiative targets not only local residents but also welcomes tourists from various corners of the country.

Visitors, including adults, school students, and foreign tourists, have to buy tickets for admission to the Zoological Park. However, in the spirit of the festive season, children below 8 years of age (with a height up to 4 feet 4 inches) will enjoy complimentary entry between December 23rd and 31st. To avail of this opportunity, parents are required to register their children online through the PMC Care app and website.
