Pune Records Highest Single-Day Spike With 10,827 New Covid-19 Cases

Pune, 3 April 2021: Today Pune district has reported one of the highest number of Coronavirus disease (COVID19) cases in a single day. A total of 10,827 fresh Coronavirus disease (COVID19) positive cases were reported today in the Pune district. Also, 6496 patients got discharged from hospitals while 66 people died today.
Dr Bhagwan Pawar, District Health Officer (DHO), said that to date the total number of COVID cases has reached 5,62,335. Out of this, 4,80,210 patients have recovered and discharged from hospitals, while 10,163 people have died. There are about 72,131 active patients undergoing treatment in different hospitals and in-home isolation. Most of the patients are from Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) area. Till now 29,80,307 people have been tested in the district.
The 5,62,335 patients include 2,83,819 from Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) area; 1,47,546 from Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC); 9283 from Cantonment areas; 94,203 are from Rural areas, and 27,484 from municipal council (Nagar Parishad) areas in the district.
