Pune, 13th April 2023: Motorists traveling from Hinjawadi to Katraj will face daily traffic congestion at the Mutha river bridge in Warje from May 1st, due to the completion of the Chandni Chowk project.

The project will relieve traffic congestion in Chandni Chowk, located on the Mumbai-Bengaluru Highway. Until now, vehicles coming from Hinjawadi, Satara, Sinhgad Road, Katraj, and Warje were getting stuck in traffic jams at Chandni Chowk. This led to a slowdown of vehicles coming towards Warje, resulting in fewer vehicles reaching the bottleneck on the Mutha river bridge. But now, the traffic flow from Chandni Chowk will directly hit the Warje Bridge, causing daily traffic jams.

Vishal Pawar, Assistant Police Inspector of the Traffic Branch, confirmed that the lanes on the Satara side of Chandni Chowk have been opened and the ramp from Pashan to the highway has also been started. As a result, all traffic in Chandni Chowk is normal, and vehicles are now coming towards Warje at high speed, creating a bottleneck on the river bridge. To clear the traffic at this place, the department has instructed night shift employees to manage the traffic between 6 pm and 9:30 pm.
