Pune: Relief To Contractual Security Guards In PMC, Guardian Minister’s Order Not To Fire Workers Above Age Of 45
Pune, 3rd January 2022: Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil has given an order to the municipal administration that the contractual security guards over forty-five years of age in various departments of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) should not be fired. Therefore, the contract security guards got relief due to their hunger strike
300 contract security guards working in various departments of the Municipal Corporation have been dismissed on the grounds of age. The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) protested against this decision of the Municipal Corporation. Also, MLA Chetan Tupe raised this issue in the session of the legislature.
Meanwhile, under the leadership of Rashtriya Mazdoor Sangh President Sunil Shinde, a hunger strike was started by the contract security guards. Taking cognizance of this, Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil has ordered the municipal administration not to fire the contractual security guards.
Under the leadership of Rashtriya Mazdoor Sangh President Sunil Shinde, the continuous efforts were going on to hiring contract security guards. The administration was not taking any role in this regard. Due to this, the hunger strike started by the contract workers. After that, the protesters met Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil.
Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar, Additional Commissioner Ravindra Binwade, and Dr Kunal Khemnar were present on this occasion. At that time, Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil ordered not to fire the contractual security guards.
