Pune, 24th January 2023: Deccan Education Society’s (DES) Research Scholarship Scheme has been announced for undergraduate students of Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce (BMCC). The college claimed that BMCC was the first college in the country to launch a research scholarship scheme for undergraduate students. BMCC gave this information through a press release.

In memory of Balwant Gulnikar, research scholarships will be given to undergraduate students from the interest of the fund donated by his family. For this, it is necessary to complete a two-credit course in ‘Research Methodology’. A scholarship of Rs 25,000 each will be given to ten students every year. The scheme was inaugurated in the presence of DES President Dr Sharad Kunte, Vice Principal Dr Ashish Puranik, Chartered Accountant Abhijit Gulnikar, Dr Vasudha Garde, and Dr Prashant Sathe.

College students can conduct sociological research. Therefore, Dr Kunte said that students will be given the necessary financial support for research through the scheme.
