Shivajinagar, 27th March 2023: Citizens of Manjari village, newly included in the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), staged a protest against the PMC today. The villagers, along with BJP workers, are demanding better facilities and services from the municipal corporation.

The residents claim that since the village was included in the PMC, they have not received any facilities or services. They have also highlighted the struggle they face in obtaining various certificates. The residents are calling for an abundant supply of water, for which they are paying taxes, but not receiving the required services.

Another issue the residents have raised is the defective streetlights installed by the municipal corporation, leading to incidents of looting by Koyta gangs at night. The villagers are calling for the tax rates to be based on the village rather than the city.

The protestors also expressed their disappointment with being included in the PMC for one and a half years, as they believe their Gram Panchayat was better. The villagers demand immediate action from the municipal corporation to address their concerns and provide better services to the newly included village.
