Model Colony, 4th August 2025: In a disturbing incident of road rage, a 19-year-old motorist was brutally attacked with a sharp weapon at Vetalbaba Chowk on Senapati Bapat Road on Saturday afternoon, allegedly for not giving way to another vehicle. The Chatushrungi police have arrested three accused and registered a case of attempted murder.

The victim has been identified as Prithviraj Kumar Narwade, a resident of Bhosalenagar, Ganeshkhind Road. He sustained serious head injuries in the attack and is currently undergoing treatment.

The accused have been identified as Mahesh Pramod Pawar (29), Rohit Ashok Dhotre (24), and Akash Vilas Kusalkar (34), all residents of Vadarwadi and surrounding areas.

According to police, the victim and the accused were not acquainted. Around 1:30 pm on Saturday (August 2), while Prithviraj was driving along Senapati Bapat Road, the accused—who were in another car—reportedly became enraged when he did not yield to their vehicle.

The trio allegedly chased Prithviraj and intercepted him at the busy Vetalbaba Chowk. They stopped their car, dragged him out of his vehicle, and began assaulting him. One of the assailants then stabbed Prithviraj on the head with a sharp weapon and reportedly threatened to kill him.

Panic gripped the area as the attack occurred in broad daylight at a busy intersection. Onlookers were left shocked at the brazenness of the assault.

Chatushrungi police swiftly responded to the incident and managed to trace and arrest the accused—Pawar, Dhotre, and Kusalkar—soon after they fled the scene. A case has been registered under sections related to attempted murder and criminal intimidation.
