Pune Road Rage: Three Booked for Attempted Murder After Dragging Youth on Car Bonnet in Pimpri Chinchwad

Nigdi, 3rd December 2024: A 23-year-old youth was injured after being hit by a car and dragged a considerable distance on its bonnet, allegedly over a confrontation about a minor accident. The incident occurred between Akurdi railway station and Bijlinagar.
The injured youth, identified as Zachariah Jacob Mathew (23), a resident of Nigdi, has filed a complaint with the Nigdi police station. Following this, a case has been registered against three accused: Kamlesh alias Ashok Patil (23), a resident of Bijlinagar, Chinchwad; Hemant Chandrakant Mhalskar alias Sonya Chandrakant Malaskar (26), a resident of Talegaon Dabhade; and Prathamesh Pushkal Darade (22), a resident of Walhekarwadi, Chinchwad.
According to the complaint, Zachariah and his friend were riding a bike when Kamlesh hit their bike with his car. When Zachariah confronted Kamlesh about the incident, Kamlesh and his associates allegedly assaulted him. During the altercation, Zachariah was hit by the car and fell onto its bonnet. The accused then drove with Zachariah clinging to the bonnet, dragging him from Akurdi railway station to Sambhaji Chowk in Bijlinagar.
Zachariah sustained injuries during the ordeal, after which the accused fled the scene. Police are investigating the incident.
