Pune: Rotary Club of Bibwewadi Launches Daughter Empowerment Projects Worth US $ 2,00,000; Will Empower 12,500 Girls

Pune, 28th September 2021: On 26th September Rotary Club of Bibwewadi along with Public Image team of Rotary District 3131 conducted “ASMITA Symposium on Daughter Empowerment” the theme being “Empowering daughters is realising full potential of the nation”.

It was a launch of Rotary India’s one of the biggest projects on Daughter Empowerment worth US$ 2,00,000. This ambitious project will help to empower 12,500 girls. It includes providing 250 Samsung A7 Tabs, 4 lakh sanitary napkins, 12,500 help booklets, 2500 bottles of multivitamin medicine and 1250 bottles of pepper spray. The project will be carried out by Rotary Club of Bibwewadi in association with GTPL Hathway Ltd.

The details of the project were chalked out by Mr Anil Bothra, CFO of GTPL Hathway Ltd. DG Pankaj Shah elaborated on major work done by Rotary in various Social initiatives and support given by corporate world in terms of CSR funds. Mr Sushant Gupta, MD & CEO of S G Analytics narrated his own understanding of daughter empowerment and need of various changes one needs to make in himself to ensure daughters are empowered. Mrs Jasuben Pandya, a prominent educationalist, gave various examples to elaborate how small encouragements and motivations can result in significant progress of daughters.

Also, Zelam Chaubal, Director of Kesari Tours said that women in power also need to ensure to support others to get empowered. The event concluded with a panel discussion on Rotary’s role in daughter empowerment where Rotary leaders came forward with ideas and their plans for this subject. DGE Anil Parmar and Hema Parmar, DGND Manjoo Phadke, IPDG Rashmi Kulkarni, PDG Deepak Shikarpur, PDG Dr.Shailesh Palekar,Dr.Shobhana Palekar participated in the panel discussion. The event ended with melodious songs by prominent singer Ankur Banerjee.
