Pune RPF saves girl student from gang rape near Alandi railway station
Pune, November 23, 2019: The timely arrival of a team of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) save a girl from being gang raped by 7-8 persons near Alandi railway station, about 27 km from Pune, on Friday night.
On 22.11.2019 during the section patrolling near Alandi railway station, located near Lonikalbhor, by PCC Kasar, Inspector,RPF, Ghorpadi and staffs B G Konde and NR Kumbhar, at about 22.30 hrs near Km no. 24 noticed one two wheeler was abondoned.
On flashing the torch light, one unknown person was running away crossing the railway track through paddy field and found one girl near abondoned L C gate lodge.
On enquiry with the girl who looked frieghtened, disclosed and was persuing her first year Journalism. She along with three male friends had come by a four-wheeler. While they were sitting inside the vehicle about 7 to 8 people armed with sword, iron rod and machatte came on bike and started quarreling without any reason. By seeing them girl’s friends ran away leaving the girl alone.
According to police, the miscreants taking advantage of the situation took the girl near the abandoned LC gate lodge with the intension of raping her and started to molest her. In the meantime RPF saff flashed the torch light, by seeing this the miscreants ran away.
Inspector Kasar and staff secured the girl and informed the matter to the local Lonikalbhor police station, under jurisdiction of Pune rural police and informed Divisional Security Commissienor, RPF, Pune and RPF control room.
At about 00.10 hrs local police arrived to the spot and caused enquiry, took the girl and vehicle to their custody. The local police had highly appreciated the timely action taken by the RPF in saving the girl’s life.
