Pune: Rs 1 Crore Fraud Uncovered in Pimpri-Chinchwad’s Akurdi Vehicle Rental Scheme

Pimpri-Chinchwad, 2nd July 2025: A fraud of over Rs 1 crore has come to light in Pimpri-Chinchwad’s Akurdi area involving a vehicle rental scheme. The incident occurred between December last year and June this year.

A 50-year-old local resident has filed a complaint at the Nigdi Police Station, following which a case has been registered against Manish Ashokbhai Harsora (39), a resident of Akurdi.

According to police reports, the accused, Manish Harsora, allegedly took 11 vehicles from the complainant and nine other individuals under the pretense of renting them out. A contract was signed as part of the arrangement. However, Harsora later took all the vehicles to Gujarat, and their current whereabouts remain unknown.

The complainant was supposed to receive Rs 11.68 lakh as rental income. Additionally, the value of the missing vehicles is estimated at Rs 90 lakh, bringing the total amount of the alleged fraud to Rs 1,01,68,000.

Nigdi Police have launched an investigation and are currently trying to trace the missing vehicles and gather more details about the accused’s activities.
