Pune: Rs 1,500 Crore Sanctioned For Beautification Of Indrayani River

Lonavala, 2nd February 2023: Indrayani river originates near Lonavala. A DPR of Rs 1,500 crore was prepared for the beautification of this river. This work will be done between Lonavala to Tuljapur.

The Forest Department land at Lions Point is also going to be bought by the government and various tourism projects are going to be implemented at that place to attract tourists. Therefore, it is predicted that riverside tourism will get a big boost.

To review the stalled development projects in Lonavala city, MP Barane, former state minister, and Pune district planning committee member Bala Bhegde recently held a review meeting and took information from the government officials at the Lonavala municipal council office. At this time, Bhegde said that Indrayani’s DPR regarding the beautification of the river has been sent for approval.

Since the city of Lonavala is divided between the Forest Department, Railway Department, and Tata Company, development works are hampered. For this, the information on the stalled development works under the jurisdiction of the Forest Department and what measures can be taken to implement them promptly was taken from the officials of the Forest Department in this meeting.

On this occasion, Lonavala Municipal Chief Pandit Patil, former mayor Surekha Jadhav, former sub-president Sridhar Pujari, Raju Bachhe, Nikhil Kavishwar, Republican Party West Maharashtra president Suryakant Waghmare, Shiv Sena Shinde group taluka chief Rajesh Khandbhor, BJP taluka president Ravindra Bhegde, former taluka president Prashant Dhore, Lonavala city president Kamalsheel Mhaske. Forest Department, Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation officials, Tata Company officials, and Lonavala Municipal Council officials were present.

Maval MP Srirang Barane, former state minister Bala Bhegde has assured that funds will be made available through the state government to speed up the stalled development works in Lonavla city, which is an important tourist destination.

Stalled vegetable market development work in Lonavla city, Ropeway project, Tungarli dam strengthening, National highway widening, Lease issue, Indrayani riverbed beautification, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Khandala lake beautification works, Lions point parking and toilets issue, Railway flyover works, Express trains halt, and information about other works was taken in the meeting.
