Pune: Rs 25 Lakh Demanded From Government Contractor, Case Registered Against Seven

Hinjawadi, 11th January 2023: An extortion of Rs five lakh was taken from the government contractor by threatening to spread obscene photos and videos of women in the house. After that, the officer was attacked by Koyta and again demanded a ransom of Rs 25 lakhs.

A case has been registered against seven people at Hinjawadi police station in this regard. The said incident happened during the period from 2nd December 2022 to 10th January 2023, between Lakshmi Chowk in Hinjawadi and in front of the PMT office, Bhosari.

Ashok Sangle, Rudra Chate, and their five accomplices were booked at Hinjawadi Police Station under IPC sections 384, 385, 341, 427, 506, 143, 147, 148, and 149 of the Maharashtra Police Act. A case has been filed under the Arms Act. A 34- year-old government contractor filed a complaint on Tuesday (10th January) in this regard.

According to the information given by the police, the complainant is a government contractor. Ashok Sangle was angry that he was fired from work and not paid for his job. He then threatened the complainant to spread obscene photos and videos of the women in the house and took extortion of Rs five lakh. The accused then demanded another Rs 25 lakh. Ashok Sangle also sent death threats to the complainant if he did not pay the money.

It has been mentioned in the complaint that Rudra Chate and his five other companions stopped the car of the complainant near the PMT office in the Bhosari area and attacked him with Koyta. Police are conducting further investigation.
