Pune: Rs 29.25 Lakh Extorted From Construction Businessman, Case Registered Against Four
Pune, 6th January 2023: A case has been registered by Chaturshringi police station against four people who went to Signature Tower in Balewadi and extorted Rs 29.25 lakh from the builder and illegally demanded a three-BHK flat and Rs 24 lakh in the housing project.
A case has been registered against Chetan Subhash Balwadkar (35), Rohan Subhash Balwadkar (33), a resident of Laxminagar, Balewadi, Sagar Vasant Balwadkar (35), a resident of Garmal, Dhayari, and Aditya Dattatray Hagwane (33), a resident of Kondhwa Budruk, Pune.
According to the information given by the police, the complainant is a construction businessman. He has a project called Signature Tower at Balewadi. The work of this building is going on, and the accused went to the said site from time to time, citing various reasons and extorted Rs 26.75 lakh from Patil in cash and 2.50 lakh through RTGS by showing fear of shutting down the site and defamation on social media.
The accused did not stop there and demanded another Rs 24 lakh and a three BHK flat in a housing project in Balewadi. Police are investigating the crime further.
