Pune, 13th November 2023: In a bid to offer an exclusive series for two-wheelers, the Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO) has introduced an innovative option allowing vehicle owners to reserve attractive registration numbers for private four-wheelers.

This unique opportunity comes with a catch – interested individuals can secure these numbers by paying three times the standard fee. The RTO has initiated the process of accepting advance applications and conducting auctions for the remaining numbers in the two-wheeler series.

For those seeking distinctive and preferred numbers for their four-wheelers in the newly launched two-wheeler series, the application window opens on November 17, from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm. Applicants must submit the prescribed format along with the triple fee during this period. In case of multiple applications for the same number, the list of applicants will be published on the office notice board, and auction deposits will be accepted until 2:30 pm on November 20. The auction will take place at 3:30 pm on the same day in the room of the Deputy Regional Transport Officer.

Similarly, two-wheeler owners aspiring for attractive and preferred numbers can apply on November 20 between 11:00 am and 2:30 pm, paying the prescribed fee. In case of multiple applications for the same number, the list will be published on the notice board on November 21 during office hours. Auction deposits will be accepted until 2:30 pm on the same day, with the auction scheduled for 3:30 pm in the Deputy Regional Transport Officer’s room.

Applicants are required to submit their applications in the private vehicle registration section of the office, accompanied by a Demand Draft (DD), address proof, Aadhaar card, identity card, attested copy of PAN card, and a mobile number linked to the Aadhaar card. The DD should be drawn in favor of ‘R.T.O. Pimpri Chinchwad’ from a nationalized bank in Pune.

It’s essential to note that once a registration number is reserved, it cannot be changed. If a vehicle is not presented for registration within 30 days from the date of reservation, the reserved registration number will be automatically canceled, and the fee will be deposited with the government. The fee for the reservation of any specific registration number is non-refundable.

Deputy Regional Transport Officer, Pimpri Chinchwad, emphasized that applications must be submitted exclusively by vehicle owners within the jurisdiction of the Regional Transport Office Pune, and applications outside the jurisdiction will be rejected.
