Pune, 8th April 2024: The Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO) is set to introduce a new series for two-wheelers, featuring attractive registration numbers. Fancy numbers from this series, typically reserved for private four-wheelers, can be obtained for two-wheelers upon payment of triple the regular fee. Advance applications and auctioning processes have commenced for the remaining registration numbers.

For owners seeking fancy or preferred numbers for their four-wheelers in the new two-wheeler series, applications must be submitted in the specified format on April 8th, between 10:30 AM and 2:30 PM, along with the triple fee. In cases where multiple applications are received for the same number, a list will be posted on the office notice board. Demand Drafts will be accepted until 2:30 PM on April 10th, with the auction scheduled for 4 PM on the same day in the Co-operative Hall.

Two-wheeler owners interested in securing fancy or preferred numbers should apply on April 10th, between 10:30 AM and 2:30 PM, upon payment of the prescribed fee. Similar to the four-wheelers, if multiple applications are received for the same number, a list will be displayed on the office notice board. Auction DDs will be accepted until 2:30 PM on April 12th, with the auction taking place at 4 PM on the same day in the Co-operative Hall.

To apply for registration numbers, individuals must submit their applications at the private vehicle registration section of the RTO. Along with the application, a Demand Draft (DD), address proof, Aadhaar card, identity card, and an attested copy of the PAN card are required. Additionally, applicants must provide a mobile number linked to the Aadhaar card. The DD should be made payable to ‘RTO, Pune’ from a Nationalized Scheduled Bank located in Pune.

Once a registration number is reserved, it cannot be altered. Failure to present the vehicle for registration within 30 days of reservation will result in automatic cancellation of the reserved number, with the fee being deposited to the government. The fee for reserving a specific registration number is non-refundable.

The Assistant Regional Transport Officer emphasizes that applications must only be submitted by vehicle owners within the jurisdiction of the Regional Transport Office Pune. Applications from outside the jurisdiction, those with incorrect DD amounts, or lacking the correct mobile number will be rejected.
