Pune Rural CNG Prices Hiked by Rs 2/kg, Rate Reaches Rs 96.50
Pune, May 18 2026 : The Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) prices in Pune rural areas have been increased by Rs 2 per kg, as gas distributor Torrent Gas announced revised rates effective from midnight of Sunday-Monday.
As per the revised rates issued by the company, CNG will now cost Rs 96.50 per kg, up from the earlier rate of Rs 94.50 per kg, from 12 am on May 18.
Torrent Gas, which operates only in Pune rural areas, had last increased CNG prices by Rs 2 per kg in April this year, when rates were revised from Rs 92.50 per kg to Rs 94.50 per kg with effect from April 3.
The repeated hikes in CNG prices are expected to impact daily commuters, transport operators and commercial vehicle owners in rural parts of Pune district who rely heavily on the fuel due to its relatively lower cost compared to petrol and diesel.
Industry observers said fluctuations in domestic gas allocation and sourcing costs continue to influence retail CNG pricing across several regions.
