Pune Rural: COVID Vaccination Centres Being Set Up In About 300 Healthcare Institutions

Pune, 1 April 2021: There will be COVID-19 Vaccination Centres (CVC) in many more hospitals in the rural areas of the district. The Pune Zilla Parishad (ZP) administration has taken steps to curb the growing coronavirus outbreak in rural areas of the district.

 

A proposal to start vaccination centres in 300 out of 539 sub-centres in the district has been sent to the Maharashtra state government. The centres are expected to be operational once it is approved. This will speed up vaccination.

 

There are 96 primary health centres and 539 sub-centres in the Pune district. There are 23 Covid Care Centres in rural areas of the district. There are a total of 330 vaccination centres in Pune city, Pimpri-Chinchwad, and rural areas. Of these, 224 are in government and 106 in private hospitals. Vaccination is underway in 125 primary health centres, rural health centres, and sub-district hospitals in rural areas. There are also centres in 35 private hospitals.

 

At present, there are 539 sub-centres in the Pune district out of which doctors are working in 450 places. So, there are no CHOs (Chief Health Officers) at 100 centres. Therefore, a proposal has been sent to the state government to start vaccination centres in 300 sub-centres in rural areas of the district.
