Pune Rural Police Arrest Smuggler With Marijuana

Kamshet, 20th August 2021: The officials from the Local Crime Branch (LCB) of Pune rural police on Thursday chased a smuggler and seized Ganja (Marijuana) worth Rs 13.75 lakh from their possession in the Kamshet police station area.

A team led by LCB Senior Police Inspector Padmakar Ghanwat was patrolling on the Pune-Mumbai highway when a car was seen speeding away flouting traffic rules near Govitri village.

The vehicle was intercepted and 25 kg Ganja was found inside. The driver and owner of the vehicle Sanjay Mohite of Govitri in Maval taluka was detained. A case has been registered against him at Kamshet police station.

The investigation included PSI Rameshwar Dhondge, ASI Rajendra Thorat, Prakash Waghmare, Mukund Kadam, Dattatraya Jagtap, and police personnel Sachin Ghadge, Mukund Aychit, Pramod Navale and Pran Yevle and Kamshet Police Station’s Police Inspector Sanjay Jagtap, API Akash Pawar and Head Constable Ajay Darekar.
