Pune Rural Police Arrest Three in Knife-Point Robbery Case

Pune, 8th February 2025: Pune Rural Police have apprehended three individuals involved in a knife-point robbery, following a swift investigation by the Local Crime Branch (LCB) and Shikrapur Police.
The case was registered on 2nd February at Shikrapur Police Station after a 19-year-old woman filed a complaint. She reported that while on her way to Ahilyanagar to deliver her father’s tiffin, she was robbed by an unknown man, approximately 21 years old, accompanied by two others of a similar age. The prime suspect forcibly snatched her phone and, when she resisted, threatened her with a knife before fleeing the scene.
Following technical investigations and assistance from private sources, the LCB team arrested the accused, identified as Ganesh Kailas Bhosale (18, resident of Parner), Ajay Manik Ghegade (resident of Shrigonda), and another suspect apprehended within the jurisdiction of Kharadi Police Station under Pune City Police Commissionerate. Police recovered a Vivo smartphone worth ₹5,000 and the motorcycle used in the crime.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Pankaj Deshmukh and senior police officials. The LCB team, led by Police Inspector Avinash Shilimkar, along with Shikrapur Police Station’s Detection Branch (DB) under Police Inspector Deepratan Gaikwad, played a key role in cracking the case and arresting the accused.
