Pune Rural Police Crack Down on Illegal Liquor Production in Shirur, Seize Rs 1.54 Lakh in Goods
Shirur, 29th October 2024: In the Kawathe Yemai area of Shirur, the Pune Rural Police Force conducted a raid on sites producing illegal country-made liquor. During this operation, police seized items worth Rs 1.54 lakh, including litres of country-made liquor, toddy, and materials used in their production. A case has been registered against two individuals identified as Akshay Balu Devkar and Sagar Ganpat Gandgul, both residents of Shirur.
Shirur Police Station carried out the raid under the Pune Rural Police Force. In the Ghod River riverbed, located in Kawathe Yemai, the accused were allegedly producing liquor illegally. Acting on information received, Police Inspector Sandesh Kenjle formed a team, which conducted the raid, apprehended the accused, and subsequently destroyed all seized items. Inspector Kenjle also urged citizens to report such activities, assuring confidentiality for those who come forward with information.
