Lonavala, 2nd April 2024: Pune Rural Police have initiated an inquiry into the visitors of over 7,000 bungalows, farmhouses, and resorts rented out as guest houses in and around the Lonavla-Khandala hill stations. This decision comes in the wake of the recent bust of an adult filmmaking racket on Friday in a bungalow located in Patan, near Lonavla.

Superintendent of Police (Pune Rural) Pankaj Deshmukh stated, “We have commenced issuing notices to the owners of known rental bungalows in the area used for recreational purposes. Additionally, we have requested details of these properties from the local municipal council.”

Deshmukh further explained, “We are seeking information from the council regarding property tax bills issued to these bungalows to ascertain ownership and management details. We are also reaching out to various gram panchayats near Lonavla, Khandala, and Malavli for further information.”

Furthermore, Deshmukh mentioned, “We will engage with online portals where such properties are listed for rental purposes. These platforms will be required to disclose booking details to the police, as we work towards this goal.” He emphasized the responsibility of resort owners and managers to ensure their premises are not misused for illegal activities.

In relation to the recent adult filmmaking case, Deshmukh disclosed, “The 13 individuals arrested, along with five women and three caretakers, were found using popular applications to livestream and upload objectionable content. We have seized laptops and are analyzing their contents for further investigation.” He added insights into the modus operandi of the group, stating, “Despite residing in different locations, they function as a team and conduct shooting activities across various parts of India.”

The arrests were made after 13 individuals from different regions of India were apprehended for their involvement in the production and streaming of objectionable adult content. The police have booked five women and three caretakers in connection with the case.
