Pune: Sambhaji Raje Launches New Organization, Will Contest Rajya Sabha Election As Independent Candidate
Pune, 12th May 2022: Rajya Sabha MP Sambhaji Raje has announced that he will contest the Rajya Sabha elections as an independent candidate. He addressed a press conference in Pune.
On this occasion, Sambhaji Raje also announced that he would set up an organization called ‘Swarajya’ to bring under one roof people who love Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj. Sambhaji Raje also clarified that he is not a member of any party from today and will not join any party in future. He had been earlier a member of the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP).
Sambhaji Raje’s term as Rajya Sabha MP ended on May 3. After that, he had recently made it clear that he would enter politics and would soon announce his political role. From that, there was a debate in the political circles as to which political party he would join or whether he would alone. After that, he clarified that he would present his next role from Pune on 12th May. He has now made two big announcements about the election and the party.
He is heir to the Kolhapur royal family as the 13th direct descendant of the Maratha king, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and great-grandson of Chhatrapati Shahu of Kolhapur.
