Sangvi, 22nd September 2023: Students of Arvind Education Society in Old Sangvi have launched a campaign called ‘Thunki Mukta Rasta Abhiyaan’ to keep roads spit-free. The campaign has received a positive response from various sections of society, including MNS president Raj Thackeray’s wife Sharmila Thackeray, Udayanraje Bhosale, BJP MLC Prasad Lad, businessman Vijay Jagtap, and former standing committee chairman Atul Shitole.

The campaign aims to create awareness among people about the negative impacts of spitting on roads. Students will approach people who are spitting on roads and politely ask them not to do so. If the person does not listen, the students will complain about them to the authorities.

“We want to create a movement to make our roads spit-free,” said Aarti Rao, founder director of Arvind Education Society.

“Spitting on roads is not only unhygienic, but it is also a health hazard. The spit can reach our homes through cars passing by on the road and also through our shoes. This can lead to health problems for our families.”

Rao appealed to other schools, colleges, and citizens to participate in the campaign. “We need everyone’s support to make this campaign a success,” she said. “Even those who spit on roads should realize that they are not only spoiling the environment but also putting their own families at risk.”
