Pune: Saptapadi Durgapuja At Balewadi high street from Oct 1-5

Pune, 26th September 2022: Saptapadi Cultural and Sports Association(SCSA), Pune, which in the past brought communities together through their unique concept of organising the Indian festivals with a blend of tradition and modernity, is geared up to organise Durgapuja2022 in a way rarely done in Pune. 

Besides daily pujas, cultural events and traditional Bengali food festival, the five-day celebration will have it all to keep every interested community glued to the activity to be organised at Saafa banquets, Balewadi High Street, Baner. From October 1 to 5.

“The highlight of the festival is that we will be putting up the statue of the goddess made of terracotta at the venue,” informed Anjana Bhattacharya, President of the SCSA. 

”As part of the cultural programme, we have lined up recitation Rabindra sangeet, which will be presented by a very renowned artiste,” she said. 

“Rabindra Sangeet is very very melodious and I am sure people of every community who would attend the celebration will enjoy the rendition,” she added.

Also, there will be a traditional Dhunuchi Dance with a group of 20 members, which will be a special attraction among other activities.

The Saptapadi Durgapuja 2022 will begin on October 1 with the final day on dashmi, October 5.

“Every day we will have puja in the morning followed by pushpanjali and other rituals. The evenings are reserved for cultural events,” said Anajana. 

Besides the SCSA has put up a concept of anandmela, the food festival, in which the participants have been encouraged to bring in home-cooked Bengali food and share it with the other attendees, added Soumitra Kundu, Vice-President, SCSA.
