Pune: Sarpanch And Gram Sevak Caught Red Handed By ACB While Accepting Bribe Of Rs 8,000

Pune, 30th September 2022: Sarpanch and Gram Sevak of Kusgaon Khurd, Taluka Maval have been caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while accepting a bribe of Rs Eight thousand to issue a death certificate.

The names of those caught red-handed are Anil Balu Yewle (33), Sarpanch, Kusgaon Khurd, Taluka Maval, District Pune and Amol Balasaheb Thorat (34), Gram Sevak, Kusgaon Khurd Gram Panchayat, Taluka Maval, District Pune. In this case, one had filed a complaint with ACB.

According to the information given by the police, the complainant had applied to the Kusgaon Khurd Gram Panchayat to get the death certificate of his grandparents. The complainant filed an application on September 26, 2022, to get copies of the demand application and objection application for his death certificate. Gram Panchayat Sarpanch Yevle demanded a bribe of Rs ten thousand for issuing certificates.

When the said complaint was verified, the Sarpanch of Kusgaon Khurd Village Panchayat Yevale demanded Rs ten thousand for giving the certificate and accepted a bribe of Rs eight thousand after a compromise.

Sarpanch Yewale’s demands for bribes were encouraged by Lok Sevak Thorat. Both have been detained and the process of registering a case is underway at Kamshet Police Station. However, further investigation is being conducted by Deputy Superintendent of Police Seema Adnaik of the ACB.
