Pune, 30th September 2022: On Thursday, water supply was interrupted in Kothrud, Chandni Chowk, Karvenagar, Pashan-Baner, and parts of Bavdhan and Shivajinagar after pumping at the civic body’s Warje water unit was hindered by a technical issue with the power supply.

The water supply department of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) was able to restore service in certain areas of Kothrud by the afternoon, although Pashan, Shivajinagar, Deccan Gymkhana, some parts of Bhandarkar Road, and the vicinity of Chandni Chowk continued to experience problems into the evening.

According to a representative of the PMC’s water supply division, “Pumping and distribution were hampered late on Wednesday night when a power supply snag occurred at the Warje water pumping and storage facility. Dependent areas were unable to receive water supplies. One step of the restoration was restarted in the afternoon by our workers, and the second phase got going in the evening.”

He stated that the supply would likely return to its previous level on Friday. A new power supply cable, according to a representative of PMC’s electrical department, has been placed at the facility. The repairs were made on an interim basis.
