Pune: Scam Of Rs 19 Lakh By Luring Woman For Marriage From Matrimonial Site

Hinjewadi, 3rd March 2023: A man has been accused of luring a woman into marriage through a matrimonial site and gradually cheating her of Rs 19 lakh by asking her to take loans through various apps. The incident took place between September 2021 and December 2022 in the Vishalnagari area of Hinjewadi Phase One.

On Wednesday (1st March), the woman filed a complaint at the Sangvi Police Station, and a case has been registered against Amol Ashokrao Pimple (Deshmukh) (33), a resident of Palaskheda.

According to the police, the accused gained the woman’s trust by claiming to be a businessman facing financial troubles. He then advised her on how to withdraw her savings and take out loans through different apps, which he directed her to transfer to his friend’s account or paid in cash when they met.

The accused reportedly had a physical relationship with the complainant but failed to marry her as promised. The woman claims that the accused still owes her Rs 19 lakh.

The Sangvi Police Station has registered a case in this matter, and citizens are being urged to exercise caution when interacting with individuals on matrimonial sites.
