Pune: Security Measures Increased At Sharad Pawar’s Residence And NCP Offices In Response To Political Developments
Pune, 2nd July 2023: With the shifting dynamics of power in Maharashtra state, Pune city police has bolstered security arrangements in the city. Special attention has been given to safeguarding the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) party offices, as well as the residences and offices of NCP office bearers.
Following NCP leader Ajit Pawar’s collaboration with the Shinde-Fadnavis government and his assumption of the role of Deputy Chief Minister, significant changes have taken place within the party. Prominent NCP leaders have been appointed to ministerial positions. In light of the political power struggle, security around the residence of NCP senior leader Sharad Pawar in the Modi Baug area on Ganeshkhind road has been heightened. Similar measures have been implemented around the NCP city office situated near the Dengle Bridge area of Shivajinagar.
The police have cordoned off the vicinity of Ajit Pawar’s office and residence, as well as the areas frequented by his supporters, MLAs, and other office bearers.
Commissioner of Police Retesh Kumaarr and Joint Commissioner of Police Sandeep Karnik have issued directives to increase security in response to today’s political developments.
