Pune: Seven Arrested For Koyta Attack In Bopdev Ghat; Valuables Worth Rs 3.8 Lakh Seized
Pune, 21st January 2025: Kondhwa police have arrested seven individuals accused of attacking a 19-year-old youth with a koyta in the Bopdev Ghat area on 16th January. Police have seized four sharp weapons, vehicles, and other valuables worth ₹3.80 lakh from the accused.
The incident occurred in front of Trinity College, where a brawl escalated, resulting in the accused attacking Vishwajit Babaji Hulvale, a resident of Yewalewadi. Hulvale sustained serious injuries in the attack. Following the incident, Kondhwa police registered a case of attempted murder.
During the investigation, police received information that one of the accused, Raj Ronge, was hiding in a flat in Yewalewadi. Acting on this tip, police apprehended him along with six accomplices.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Bhavesh Balasaheb Kunjir (23), a resident of Saswad, Atharv Kailas Pawar (21), a resident of BT Kawade Road, Ghorpadi, Suraj Sachin Raut (21), a resident of Yewalewadi, Aryan Vilas Pawar (18), a resident of Ghorpadi, Saurabh Pradeep Londhe (18), a resident of Dhankawadi, Raj Digambar Ronge (19), a resident of Yewalewadi, Varun Baban Bhosale (21), a resident of Jejuri, Taluka Purandar. The court has remanded the accused in police custody.
Under the guidance of the Additional Commissioner of Police Manoj Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police Dr Rajkumar Shinde, Assistant Commissioner Dhanyakumar Godse, Senior Inspector Vinay Patankar, Police Inspector (Crime) Abdul Rauf Sheikh, Suraj Bendre, a team of Police Sub-Inspector Balaji Digole, Police Constable Amol Hirve, Satish Chavan, Nilesh Desai, Vishal Memane, Gorakhnath Chinke, Police Constable Santosh Bansode, Laxman Holkar, Shahid Sheikh, Suraj Shukla, Sagar Bhosale, Sujit Madan and Rahul Thorat carried out the said operation.
