Pune, 18th January 2022: Due to a large number of potholes on the roads in Pune city, drivers have to suffer unnecessarily. Today, members of Shiv Sena’s Kasba assembly constituency staged a protest near Gadikhana hospital in Shukrawar Peth against shoddy road work and potholes.

“The insurance of Rs one lakh has been taken out to provide financial help to drivers in case of accidents due to potholes,” informed Shiv Sena’s Pune deputy chief Balasaheb Malusare.

Malusare said, “BJP is in power in Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). Inferior quality roads have been constructed in the city. The ruling BJP is only busy collecting commissions by issuing tenders. Roads in many parts of the city are in poor condition due to potholes. Roads have been dug up at various places in the city for laying water supply, sewers, or cables. Yet, many roads in the city have been damaged due to temporary repairs. In most places, the pit is filled by pouring soil directly. In some places, concrete is being poured directly without mixing stones. Drivers have to bear the brunt of potholes in the same place”.
