Pune: Shivneri Bus Service Launched from Hinjawadi to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Kolhapur, and Nashik

Hinjawadi, 3rd June 2025: In a move aimed at easing weekend travel for IT professionals based in Pune’s bustling Hinjawadi IT Park, the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) will roll out a new Shivneri bus service connecting Hinjawadi Phase-III (TCS Circle) to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, starting Friday, June 6.
The newly introduced route is part of a broader plan to enhance connectivity from the city’s IT hub to key districts across Maharashtra.
“We received repeated requests from working professionals who commute between Pune and their hometowns every weekend. This service is designed to meet that demand,” said Kanade, Stand Incharge at MSRTC’s Shivajinagar Depot.
Weekend Travel Schedule
The Sambhajinagar-bound Shivneri bus will leave Hinjawadi every Friday at 6:00 PM and make the return journey from Sambhajinagar at 4:30 AM every Monday—timed precisely for those heading back to work after a weekend at home.
MSRTC has also announced two more weekend-only Shivneri services:
Hinjawadi–Kolhapur: Departs Friday at 4:45 PM, returns Monday at 4:00 AM
Hinjawadi–Nashik: Departs Friday at 5:00 PM, returns Monday at 4:30 AM
Affordable Fares
The fare structure aims to accommodate a wide range of commuters:

Female passengers: ₹511
Senior citizens (65–74 years): ₹511
Senior citizens (75 years and above): Free of charge
“We have kept the ticket prices considerate, especially for women and senior citizens,” Kanade added.
