Pune: Shop Owner Arrested for Filming Woman in Changing Room in Kamshet
Pune, 9th April 2026: A shocking case of alleged voyeurism has been reported from the Kamshet area, where a woman was secretly filmed using a CCTV camera while changing clothes inside a shop. The Kamshet police have registered a case against the shop owner and arrested him.
The accused has been identified as Mukesh Mutha, owner of ‘Mukesh Fancy Corner’, where the incident took place. The incident reportedly occurred around 3 pm on March 16 at the shop located in Kamshet, in Maval taluka.
According to police, the woman had visited the shop for shopping. Despite being aware that a CCTV camera was installed in the store room, the accused allegedly asked her to use the space to change clothes. The victim noticed the camera when suddenly the power supply was disupted and she noticed a red light blinking in the changing room. Upon checking, it was confirmed that there was a CCTV camera installed. The woman claimed that the intended to outrage her modesty.
The complainant has further alleged that the accused also threatened her after the incident. Based on her complaint, Kamshet police registered an FIR under Sections 77 and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Police said the accused knowingly sent the woman into the store room despite the presence of the camera and recorded her while she was changing, which amounts to a serious violation of her privacy and dignity.
Taking cognisance of the gravity of the offence, police arrested the accused and produced him before a court in Vadgaon Maval. Further investigation in the case is currently underway.
