Pune: Shopkeepers Attack PMC Officials Who Came To Take Action On Unauthorized Shops In Aundh

Aundh, 7th February 2023: Today, when the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Building Department team went to take action on unlicensed shops at Spicer College Road in the Aundh area, the shopkeepers gathered an illegal crowd and attacked the team. In this, the JCB driver and two engineers were beaten up.

The team completed 90 per cent of the action even in such a situation, and after seeing the construction of about 50 to 60 thousand square feet, it was cleared.

Subsequently, a case was registered against unknown shopkeepers for obstructing government work at Chaturshringi Police Station in this regard. Even after this, the authorities of Pune Municipal Corporation, as well as the police, have expressed their determination that the shopkeepers will not be allowed to do any business, thereafter taking large-scale action. The police officers have also assured the Municipal Corporation officials that strict action will be taken against those who throw stones and beat them up.

Deputy Commissioner Madhav Jagtap, Superintending Engineer Yuvraj Deshmukh, Executive Engineer Bipin Shinde, Junior Engineer Gajanan Sarane, Vitthal Mule, Rohit Divte, Uday Kodre, Sunil Kadam and other staff and police carried out the action.
