Pune, September 22, 2020: During the ongoing lockdown relaxations, all the shops and markets are allowed to open from 9 am to 7 pm, as directed by Pune Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar. However, 12 shops in Ganga Bhagyoday Khau Galli and Manikbagh area, Sinhgad road have violated the order by remaining open after 7 pm, informed Jayashree Borade, Assistant Municipal Commissioner of Sinhgad Road Ward Office.

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has made it mandatory for the citizens coming to the shops and markets to wear face masks, practice social distancing, and the shop owners should sanitize the premises from time to time.

Disciplinary action was taken against the shop owners under the Sinhgad ward Office and Rs 8000 fine was recovered. “We will continue to take strict against any shopkeepers who do not follow the guidelines issued by the PMC. Our team members are patrolling daily, and it’s a sincere request for all the citizens to follow the protocols issued by the PMC”, Borade told Punekarnews.in.
