Pune: Shrimant Dagdusheth Ganpati Temple Adorned With 21,000 Sunflowers

Pune, 4th April 2023: Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Temple was adorned with 21,000 sunflowers to mark the Chaitra month (spring season). The sunflowers were arranged from the Kalash of the temple to the inner sanctum (garbhgrih). This is the first time that such a large number of sunflowers were arranged in the temple.

Sunflowers are known for their dark saffron color petals and black centers. These flowers do not just produce oil seeds but are also used for decoration purposes. The sunflowers remain fresh and attractive for seven to eight days after being picked from the field. The flowers’ beauty was further enhanced by the sunlight that fell on them when they were placed on top of the temple.

This spectacular sight attracted a large number of devotees to the temple who came to capture this stunning scene in their mobile phones. The devotees were amazed at the temple’s beauty and praised the organizers for their efforts.

The initiative was taken by the Ganpati Trust and Sakata Seed India Pvt. Ltd. The managing director of the company, Dr. Jai Singh, has given special support for the initiative.
